Statement lines that don't tie to what was posted
The problem
You pay the bill before anyone checks it against the delivery.
Invoices arrive by email, photo and courier. Someone keys them in, someone else hunts for the PO and the delivery order, and the supplier's statement turns up at month-end with lines nobody recognises.
Short deliveries billed in full, prices that drifted from the PO, invoices that never made it into the books — they're all in there, but finding them means ticking line by line.

Documents come in
Outlets and suppliers drop files into one inbox. VAL names the supplier and document type and files each one. What it can't place goes to review, where an AI check suggests the supplier, type and folder for a person to confirm.
- 02
Each PO is matched
Purchase order to goods received — did it arrive? Goods received to invoice — were we billed for what arrived, at the PO price? Credit notes are netted off the line they correct.

Statements are checked
Where your accounting system's postings are connected, every line on the supplier's statement is checked against what was posted there, and against the scan of the supplier's own invoice to explain any difference.
Every ✓ line is marked safe for your finance team to post. VAL marks it; your team posts it.
What you see
Every purchase order ends in one of three places.
Ordered = received = billed. Small explained differences — a price corrected by a credit note, a pack size, a short delivery billed correctly — still count.
Not received yet, or received but not billed yet. Nothing to do but wait.
Billed ≠ received, or an invoice line that isn't on the PO. This is your team's list.
When a document can't be read
Problems are caught at the door, not at month-end.
Too blurry
An unreadable photo — ask the outlet to re-send.
Missing page
Only part of a multi-page document arrived — ask for the rest.
Not set up
A new supplier or document type — a setup request goes to our team.
Not required
Your own PO, a return or a service note — parked, nothing to process.
AI that proposes, people that approve
Mismatched items, sorted out with a suggestion.
When an invoice line quotes a PO but matches no line on it — often the same item under a different code — VAL lists the best candidate on that PO, scored. The AI reads the list and proposes which to remap and which to hold.
It can't change anything on its own. A person approves, then the correction is applied.
